Shah also handed three demerit points
Pakistani cricketer Khushdil Shah has been fined 50% of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20 against New Zealand.
The left-handed all-rounder was penalised for a level 2 offence after he deliberately collided with a Kiwi player during the match. As a result, he has also been handed three demerit points.
Under ICC regulations, accumulating four demerit points within a set period could lead to a suspension from international matches. With this latest sanction, Shah now stands one demerit point away from facing a possible ban.
The ICC’s Code of Conduct is designed to maintain discipline in international cricket. Level 2 breaches typically involve serious misconduct, including physical contact or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
If Shah receives another demerit point, he could face a one-match suspension, which may impact Pakistan’s squad depth in future games.
