Pakistan to take on New Zealand in five T20Is, three ODIs
Newly-appointed batting coach Mohammad Yousuf confirmed on Tuesday that he would join the Pakistan national cricket team for their upcoming tour to New Zealand, following his daughter’s recovery.
“The doctors have said that my daughter is recovering, so that is why I have decided to travel with the team for the New Zealand tour,” Yousuf explained.
Yousuf, who had previously announced his withdrawal from the tour due to his daughter's illness, emphasised the importance of his role. "Travelling with the Pakistan cricket team is a national duty, so that is why I have taken the decision to join the team for the New Zealand tour," he added.
Earlier on the same day, reports had confirmed that Yousuf had withdrawn from the tour due to his daughter’s sickness. The former Pakistan cricketer had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his decision.
No replacement had been appointed for Yousuf in his absence on the tour.
