BCCI responds to Rohit Sharma's chances of coming to Pakistan
Captains from all 8 teams required to attend Champions Trophy event in Karachi
A customary captains' meet is scheduled to take place in Karachi ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, with the event expected on February 17 or 18.
Captains from all eight participating teams are required to attend, but it remains unclear whether Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will be present.
The Indian cricket team has not traveled to Pakistan for over a decade due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries. India has also opted out of playing in Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy, with all their matches now relocated to Dubai, despite Pakistan being the original host.

Newly-elected BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia addressed the uncertainty regarding Rohit’s participation, stating that the board had not received any proposal about his attendance. “We haven’t got any such proposal. This hasn’t been part of our discussions with the ICC,” Saikia told The Telegraph.
A source quoted by the newspaper described the situation as sensitive, emphasizing the need for cautious steps to avoid undesirable repercussions. "This is a very delicate situation and every step has to be taken after judging its repercussions. India have to find a compromise formula to solve the crisis since Pakistan will enjoy certain benefits by virtue of being the hosts," the source added.

The Champions Trophy is set to kick off on February 19, with the much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
