Cricket Australia unveils home fixture list for 2025 season
Australia had confirmed the hosting of eight white-ball matches against India from August to November, leading up to the Ashes series against England, according to Cricket Australia’s newly released home fixture list.
The white-ball series would begin with two T20 Internationals against South Africa in Darwin in August. This event would mark the first time in 17 years that international cricket would be played across every state and territory in Australia within a single calendar year.
Following the six white-ball matches against South Africa, Australia would take on India in a three-match one-day international series. India, who had triumphed over Australia in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy earlier that month, were anticipated to be challenging opponents. The series would then continue with a five-match T20 series against India, a team that had become Australia's fiercest rival in all three formats of the game in recent years.
Pat Cummins and his team were set to begin their Ashes campaign in Perth on November 21 against England, with subsequent tests scheduled in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Cricket Australia's women’s team would also engage in a multi-format series against India, which would include the first-ever day-night test in Perth in March of the following year. According to Cricket Australia’s CEO Todd Greenberg, this series would bookend what he called an "incredible international season."
"We smashed many records for attendance, viewing audiences, and digital engagement last summer and we’re confident that this incredible momentum will continue throughout what promises to be an engrossing season," Greenberg stated.
