Indian efforts to disrupt PSL falter

Indian attempts to undermine the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have failed, with international players continuing to show strong support for the tournament.

Despite various Indian manoeuvres aimed at destabilising the league, the PSL has regained its vibrancy. Today (Saturday), Peshawar Zalmi will face Karachi Kings at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Both sides boast a host of international stars.

Several top-tier international cricketers, including Mitchell Starc, have opted out of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Karachi Kings’ line-up features David Warner, Tim Seifert, Ben McDermott, James Vince, and Mohammad Nabi — all ready to make their mark.

Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi have added Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Max Bryant, Najibullah Zadran and Luke Wood to their squad.

Islamabad United have also finalised their foreign player roster, which includes Jimmy Neesham and Tymal Mills.

Repeated efforts by India to sabotage cricket in Pakistan and discourage international participation have backfired. The PSL is once again commanding global attention and active international involvement.

The willingness of the global cricket community to play in Pakistan — in contrast to their decision to forgo participation in the IPL — is being viewed as a significant diplomatic and sporting blow for India.
