PCB confirms website's servers were unable to handle
Cricket enthusiasts eager to witness the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan encountered significant difficulties when the official ticketing website crashed due to an overwhelming surge in traffic.
The online sale of tickets for the much-anticipated tournament, which is set to take place at Pakistan’s newly-renovated stadiums, commenced at 2:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on Monday.
However, the site quickly became overwhelmed by a high volume of users attempting to secure seats for the matches.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the website's servers were unable to handle the unprecedented number of visitors, causing disruptions for many fans hoping to buy tickets for the eight-team event.
As a result, numerous users were left frustrated as they were unable to complete their transactions.
In response to the situation, the PCB announced that they were working to resolve the issue by expanding server capacity to accommodate the heavy demand.
Ticket prices for the event, which will be hosted in multiple cities across Pakistan, range from PKR 1,000 to PKR 25,000.
The pricing varies depending on factors such as the venue, seating category, and the specific match. Various categories, including General Enclosure, First Class, Premium, VIP, VVIP, and Gallery, are available to cater to different fan preferences.
Despite the technical issues, the Champions Trophy, set to feature high-profile international teams, has generated immense excitement among Pakistan’s cricket fans.
The newly-renovated venues are expected to provide a world-class experience for spectators, further heightening the anticipation surrounding the tournament.
