England look to stage comeback in Champions Trophy
England, led by captain Jos Buttler, took part in a training session on Tuesday ahead of their crucial, do-or-die clash against Afghanistan in the 8th match of the Champions Trophy 2025.
According to reports, the English team practised under the floodlights at the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where they had previously faced Australia in their opening match.
Having been comprehensively beaten by Australia in their first outing at the same venue, England are determined to make a strong comeback.
Buttler, speaking ahead of the match, stated that the team would not repeat the mistakes they made in their opening game.
This match is also a potential knockout for Afghanistan, who were handed a heavy defeat by South Africa in their previous match.
It is worth mentioning that both Bangladesh and host nation Pakistan have already been eliminated from Group A in the Champions Trophy, intensifying the stakes of this encounter.
