He further assures fans that he would continue to support the team from home
Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has expressed his disappointment after being ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to injury, stating that while the setback is unfortunate, he remains hopeful for a strong recovery.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Zaman wrote, “It is an honour to represent Pakistan. I have done it many times, and InshaAllah, I will return stronger. This was not meant to be, but Allah’s plans are always better.”
He further assured fans that he would continue to support the team from home.
Zaman was forced out of the tournament after sustaining a back injury while fielding against New Zealand at the National Stadium Karachi.
Following medical assessments, doctors advised him to take complete rest, leading the PCB to seek a replacement.
The ICC has since approved Imam-ul-Haq as Zaman’s replacement, with the left-handed batter joining the squad for the remainder of the tournament.
The decision was confirmed by the Event Technical Committee, which includes Wasim Khan, Usman Wahla, Sarah Edgar, and Shaun Pollock.
Despite his early exit, Zaman remains optimistic, thanking fans for their support and hoping for Pakistan’s success in the tournament.
